Greg Zuerlein picked up another nice award for his Week 13 clutch performance against the San Francisco 49ers. The St. Louis Rams rookie kicker was selected as the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his two big time field goals last week that powered the Rams to a 16-13 upset win.
Greg the Leg, Legatron, Young GZ, etc. booted a 53-yard field goal that tied the game with two seconds left in regulation. For an encore, he kicked a 54-yard game-winner with less than 30 seconds to spare in overtime.
The most important thing of all for the Rams is that Legatron shook off a sort of a slump he'd been in since that ugly affair in Miami a while back.
Running back Steven Jackson is as impressed with the rookie kicker as the rest of us. Here's what he had to say in an interview on 101 ESPN on Tuesday:
"I would say, today, I watched the TV copy of the game, I said, ‘I'm going to watching this kid 20 years from now.' I believe he will be an NFL kicker for at least 15 or 20 years. He's really good, he's clutch, he has a lot of confidence, and in pressure situations, it just doesn't seem to overwhelm him."
