Random Ramsdom: Rams Win, 49ers Get Rocked, Seahawks Flying High 12/24/12

The NFC West has two teams headed to the playoffs unless something really odd transpires. While the St. Louis Rams were eliminated on Sunday from the post season, the strength of their defense bodes well for a strong and interesting 2013 NFL season...

CBS Sports give their game analysis - With all the talk of quarterbacks who may be moving on after the season ends, I'm beginning to wonder if Josh Freeman may be one of them. For the second straight week, Freeman threw four interception in a game. Ouch! "So Josh, if you like desert air, I may have a team for you..."

The Seattle Seahawks are hitting on all cylinders - The 49ers were absolutely embarrassed by Seattle. Pete Carroll had the Seahawks looking like one of his old USC teams playing against New Mexico State. They've scored 142 points in their last three games.

Watch for leaks when you take a leak... Seahawks defensive back Richard Sherman is going for the "leaky cup" defense in his appeal with the NFL. No, really. He seems positive he and his representative made a strong case to set aside the four game suspension he earned for a positive drug test. He and Brandon Browner were both given suspensions, but Sherman was the only one who decided to appeal. The NFL should rule sometime this week.

Tim Tebow asks not to be put in for the Jets after they give McElroy the starting nod... It appears Tebow's days are truly over in the Big Apple. Hurt feeling at being bypassed on the quarterback depth chart were cited as the reason why slot receiver Jeremy Kerley handled "Wildcat" duties for the Jets. Interestingly enough, Kerley now has more passing yards than Tebow for 2012 - after playing in a single game.

Will Houston flop once again in the playoffs? The Texans are sinking fast after taking a beating by the surging Minnesota Vikings. To add to their worries, star running back Arian Foster left the game with an irregular heart beat. Get well soon Arian.

Peterson take the 4th quarter off - Can he still break Dickerson's record? He'll need to top 208 rushing yards against the Green Bay Packers next Sunday. Not sure if playing outside at Lambeau Field in January is conducive to setting records...

NFC and AFC Playoff Picture getting clearer - Here's the most recent look at who is in, and who is out in the NFC. If you're curious about the AFC picture, go here.

That's all for today. Enjoy the win over Tampa Bay, and get ready for the biggest Rams game of the year in Seattle next Sunday!
