I'll try to limit this thread just to prospects since we're already underway.
Ohio at #23 Kent State (11 p.m., ESPNU)
There is not a more telling signal that modern college football is different than it was when I was growing up than that Kent frigging State is a ranked football team. From 1989 to 2000, Kent State averaged 1.33 wins.....they were that team that you could always bank on being so horrible that whichever team managed to lose to them was pretty much legally obliged to fire their head coach. This year, they're 10-1, their first double digit win season since....ever. I'm not sure I'm entirely comfortable with this, but I'll roll with it. In any case, I'm eager to see if they can themselves into an actual program.
In terms of prospects, there's not much here outside of Kent State OT Brian Winters. If you miss him here, don't worry. Kent State plays N. Illinois next week and should be set up for a decent bowl game.
#14 Nebraska at Iowa (12 p.m., ABC)
Um, tread lightly. Maybe you want to get a look at Husker FS Daimion Stafford. Maybe you think Iowa WR Keenan Davis is NFL quality, but he's being suppressed at Iowa. Look, I'll probably catch some of this game. But I'm not going to suggest any of you should do the same.
#7 LSU at Arkansas (2:30 p.m., CBS)
SEC teams. Yes, please.
#25 Washington at Washington St. (3:30 p.m., FOX)
I literally have absolutely no idea what actually happened in the Marquess Wilson saga. I just know that I hate it happened, whatever it was. You still probably want a look at WSU OLB Travis Long. Oh, and the manlove has begun for sophomore TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins. He joins Julio Jones, Hakeem Nicks and G Jonathan Cooper in my pantheon of would-be Rams in a perfect world. ASJ in 2014.
