Danny Amendola injury: Rams WR will return in Week 10

The St. Louis Rams will definitely have a familiar face in the lineup next week.

He's back. Almost. When the St. Louis Rams return to action in San Francisco next week, Danny Amendola will be in uniform and ready to resume his place as the lone regular contributor on offense.

Amendola's return is not a big surprise. He was practicing last week in London, and was officially listed as having a 50-50 chance of playing in that otherwise forgettable game. Holding off through the bye week gave him extra time to rest and heal.

Just how much have the Rams missed Amendola? The team scored an average of 13.7 points in three games without the team's top receiving option. In five games with Amendola, the Rams scored an average of 19 points per game. The team is offensively challenged with or without him, but with the recent emergence of Chris Givens, it's fair to wonder if that added dimension might at least get the Rams over 20 points in a for more outings this season. The Rams have scored 20 or more points exactly three times this season.

Rodger Saffold will also return to the lineup in Week 10, upping the total to two injured starters back in action that week. Getting those two back will be as good as anything the Rams could do at the NFL trade deadline.
