Injuries are starting to take a toll on the St. Louis Rams. A few plays after wide receiver Danny Amendola left the game, starting strong safety Quintin Mikell was helped off the field after hitting his head in a collision with his own teammate.
Mikell's head and neck hit the knee of linebacker Josh Hull on a play late in the second quarter. He laid on the field for a few moments, surrounded by training staff. It silenced what had been a rowdy crowd. Mikell did eventually get up and walk off the field without any additional assistance.
The NFL has strict rules governing head injuries, which could make a return during this game difficult if he is showing any signs of a concussion.
St. Louis leads the Arizona Cardinals 10-3 with roughly four minutes left in the first half of a Thursday night showdown in prime time on the NFL Network.
