Cardinals vs Rams: Keep an eye on Andre Roberts

The St. Louis Rams cannot take the Cardinals' passing game for granted, especially when it comes to Andre Roberts.

Much of the focus for the leading up to Thursday's game has been on the matchup between a struggling St. Louis Rams offense and a tough Arizona Cardinals defense. Little has been said about the Cardinals offense, which is greatly improved this season thanks to a well-rounded group of receivers.

Unlike recent seasons, the other worldly Larry Fitzgerald finally has a little help for the first time since Anquan Boldin left for Baltimore. NFL Network football guru and color guy for Thursday's game was on 101 ESPN Thursday morning, talking about Andre Roberts, Arizona's emergent receiver.

"I think one of the most improved wide receivers in the league, if not the most ... is Andre Roberts," Mayock said. "All of the sudden, this kid is running routes, he's catching the ball. It gives them another weapon."

Roberts has 15 catches for 229 yards and four touchdowns. Fitzgerald has 22 catches for 245 yards and two touchdowns. The third-year receiver was a deep threat last week against Miami with an average 19.7 yards per reception. He also scored two of his touchdowns in that game.

Fortunately for the Rams, they have three very capable cornerbacks ... and they don't take any opponent lightly.
