The NFL frowns on players trying to rip off the heads of other players. St. Louis Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan got hit in the wallet for just such a move in last week's game against the Green Bay Packers, getting fined $7,875 for a facemask on Jordy Nelson.

Fines are not uncommon for a player like Finnegan, and after signing a $50 million contract this spring, eight grand in fines is a small price to pay.
You can see the play in question in the photo above. Finnegan got an unnecessary roughness call on the play too, which moved the Packers that much further up the field.
Discipline is key against teams like Green Bay or this week's opponent, the Patriots. Fines and flags asides, the Rams wouldn't be where they are without Finnegan's feisty side.
Just ask Josh Morgan.
