Rams Request Permission to Interview Les Snead for GM Position

Could part of the team that brought Julio Jones to Atlanta be headed to St. Louis? Only time will tell.
Could part of the team that brought Julio Jones to Atlanta be headed to St. Louis? Only time will tell.

Yesterday we heard news that the Rams were hoping to interview Eric DeCosta for the GM Position, it now appears there is another name that has been thrown into the hat (among others): Les Snead. Snead has the same position as DeCosta (Director of Player Personnel) with the Atlanta Falcons.

Snead has been a part of the Falcons front office since 1997, making it through numerous head coaching changes throughout his 13 years with the Falcons. He has held his current title for three years, and oversaw the scouting efforts for both free agency and the draft.

Suffice to say the Falcons are stocked with talent, and Snead is a part of those results. Most recently, Rams fans will remember the Falcons jumping up in last years draft to select TST-favorite Julio Jones, who is coming off a monster rookie year. That "go-for-it" style could help the Rams move the gold-plated draft picks they have this year.

If anything, it tells you that Kroenke is doing his homework and is looking for only the best; Snead and DeCosta are incredibly well regarded around the league.
