Rams GM Search: Interview With Steve Keim "Went Very Well"

Two-a-days. The St. Louis Rams interviewed two candidates for the GM job on Tuesday in St. Louis. That followed two interviews on Monday. A decision could come soon, perhaps by the end of the week, according to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network.

The two candidates interviewed today were Steve Keim of the Arizona Cardinals and Brian Gaine of the Miami Dolphins. According to LaCanfora's report, the interview with Keim "went very well." On Monday, the Rams interviewed Joey Clinkscales of the New York Jets and George Paton of the Minnesota Vikings.

Keim has been with the Cardinals for 13 years, starting out as regional scout. In 2006, he was promoted to the Director of College Scouting and bumped up into his current gig as the Director of Player Personnel in 2008. You can check out the Cardinals' draft history at Pro Football Reference. While nobody will confuse it with the Giants or Ravens, it's solid, and the team has been able to find regular contributors in the later rounds. Of course, draft choices get made at a higher level than the director of player personnel, so it's really not fair to put too much stock in the past draft results for any of these candidates.

Little known fact, Keim was a teammate of Torry Holt at NC State.
