Rams GM Search: Titans Promote Two Candidates For St. Louis Job

The St. Louis Rams are still searching for a general manager, having hired their head coach, Jeff Fisher, last week. Two candidates for that position, Lake Dawson and Ruston Webster, received promotions from their current team, the Tennessee Titans, on Wednesday. That takes two candidates out of the pool for the Rams.

Webster was promoted to Executive Vice President/General Manager. Dawson moved up to Vice President of Player Personnel.

The Rams received permission to interview Webster, but have not done so. They interviewed Dawson last Tuesday, before Fisher made his decision.

Those two join another two GM candidates out of the running. The Colts hired Ryan Grigson as their GM, and the Ravens moved to keep Eric DeCosta, who will eventually take over the GM job there.

Les Snead, the Director of Player Personnel for the Falcons, and Steve Keim, the Director of Player Personnel for the Cardinals, are the other two candidates the Rams are known to have interviewed.

At Tuesday's press conference, Rams COO Kevin Demoff said that they will put their GM search on hold until Fisher completes the process of hiring his coaching staff. Fisher will also be involved in the GM search. They said that there are a number of candidates for the job on their list.
