The St. Louis Rams managed to score a second touchdown, against all odds and historical precedent. After years of refusing to take any shots downfield, head coach Steve Spagnuolo must have had a foxhole conversion. Sure enough, it worked. Kellen Clemens hit Brandon Lloyd on a 36-yard deep shot for the touchdown.

The Rams are likely going to lose Lloyd next season. The free agent-to-be said recently that he would like to follow Josh McDaniels, the current offensive coordinator, wherever he goes next season. There's a chance that could be St. Louis, but it seems unlikely with a major house cleaning coming after the season ends.
That touchdown led to a comeback. The Rams got an onsides kick, scored another touchdown. Driving, Kellen Clemens was injured on a sack. He left the field on a cart. Tom Brandstater came in. On fourth down, he hit Daranio Alexander on the hands for what would have been a first down. Fittingly, the maddeningly inconsistent Alexander could not hang on to the ball.
