The St. Louis Rams got a bit of good news today. Running back Steven Jackson is active and will return to action today. The Rams will definitely need him against a tough Ravens defense headlined by Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and Terrell Suggs.
For the Rams defense, they get a tough matchup against running back Ray Rice. If they can shut him down and focus on Joe Flacco, they'll give the offense the chance to make something happen.
The Rams offense has been a stinker the first two games of the season. Having Jackson back should help, even though the Ravens defense is notoriously stingy with the running yards. It should still force them to respect the run and maybe, just maybe, give Sam Bradford some more time to make a few passes against a Ravens secondary that was beaten by Matt Hasselbeck last week.
It's game time in St. Louis folks, we'll be back with more as the game unfolds.
