With the St. Louis Rams playing tonight, a Monday, I confess to being a bit lost today. I'm not really sure how to conduct myself. The rest of the NFL wrapped up their week yesterday, and we Rams fans get an extra day for the butterflies to get really loaded up on coffee and extra jittery ahead of tonight's contest.
Quite honestly, I haven't really enjoyed Monday night games since ESPN started handling the broadcast. So much football analysis is loaded with jump cuts, nonsensical broadcasters and all the other things that just take away from the enjoyment of the game. Old man rant, over.
Now, some links...
Seeking NFC West victory in New Jersey - It was an ugly week for the NFC West. All three teams got beat yesterday, some in a blowout, others in a get wrenching overtime loss. The Rams have a tall order tonight if the NFC West is going to have at least one winner.
Giants won't recognize everything in Rams' defense - Sure, the Giants know what kind of defense Steve Spagnuolo runs. After all, they won the Super Bowl in large part because of that pressure defense. Spagnuolo says that the Giants will not recognize everything in his Rams defense.
Bernie: Time for a quality win - Losing a prime time would not be a step in the right direction for the Rams.
First home MNF game in Coughlin era - Believe it or not, the Giants will be looking to win their first Monday night home game this century when they host the St. Louis Rams. It's the first MNF for the Rams since 2006.
New York Giants' secondary aims to eliminate errors - The Giants' secondary allowed seven plays of at least 18 yards last week against Washington, according to Perry Fewell the defensive coordinator. Needless to say, Fewell has his defensive backfield tightening things up in practice this week. If Justin Tuck can play, they can expect a little more help up front.
CBS’ The NFL Today: Rams vs. Giants Breakdown - Ah, CBS' calm, focused and professional approach to NFL broadcasting...I do so enjoy it. Rams Gab has a clip of the CBS breaking down the Rams-Giants game from NFL Today, yesterday.
How Rex Grossman and Fred Davis laid the blueprint for Sam Bradford and Lance Kendricks - Tim at Rams Herd takes a look at a key play the Redskins used against the Giants last week. Analyzing a cover-two beater worked to perfection by the Redskins against the Giants in week 1.
