Philadelphia Eagles sign RB Ronnie Brown to 1-year deal

Well, that's one less RB on the market for the Rams.  According to Philly's official Twitter feed, ex-Miami RB Ronnie Brown "agreed to terms" on a one-year contract.

There are still plenty of options on the market.  Former Atlanta RB Jerious Norwood is still the most-linked name, and Brown's former college teammate, Cadillac Williams, is an option as well.  It's possible that the Eagles would let go a RB in their stable with the addition of Brown, after having waived Noel Devine recently.  Brown joins LeSean McCoy, Eldra Buckley, Dion Lewis, Derrick Locke and Graig Cooper as part of the Eagles' RB corps.  I'd be surprised if Philly retains the services of all six of them.

The real issue is cost.  Does it make sense for the Rams to spend a premium on a backup RB with a starter as rock solid as Steven Jackson?  And with the annual capability to grab a RB deep in the draft, anything beyond a 1-year deal seems foolhardy.  In any case, it's an open end that Billy D should be tying up very soon.
