St. Louis Rams training camp: Robert Quinn on the sidelines (photos)

That man, #94, is the St. Louis Rams first round pick from the 2011 NFL Draft, North Carolina DE Robert Quinn. With a deal in hand, he suited up and joined the Rams on the practice field today...sort of. Quinn actually worked with the training staff on the sidelines. Quinn suffered a knee sprain two months ago during offseason workouts on his own.

By all accounts, Quinn will be fine and ready to practice in a matter of days. Quinn's in a good spot for a rookie. Unlike so many other first round picks, he doesn't have to undertake a starting role right away with James Hall and Chris Long in front of him on the depth chart. This season, the Rams can utilize his natural pass rushing ability situationally, giving him time to learn the finer points of the NFL game. Quinn missed his senior season because of a suspension, so the transition works out well for him.

Click on the photo above for more pics from camp. I've got some fan photos I'll be posting on the site later this evening.
