The Carolina Panthers re-signed linebacker Thomas Davis. It's noteworthy because Davis was one linebacker that the St. Louis Rams were considered. Defensive coordinator Ken Flajole coaches linebackers in Carolina before taking his job with the Rams.
The Panthers have been busy, busy in free agency, spending big time money on DeAngelo Williams, Charles Johnson and just moments ago another linebacker, James Anderson. And those are just their free agents.
Speaking of connections, it wouldn't be free agency for the Rams if there weren't another Spagnuolo connection or two, beyond S Quintin Mikell. The Rams are said to be interested in Eagles linebacker Stewart Bradley. Of course, Bradley and Spags never shared any time together in Philly. Bradley was a third round pick in 2007, Spags' first year in New York.
Bradley might be more of a strangside backer, at 258 lbs, and he doesn't excel in coverage. He spent all of the 2009 season on IR, and missed some time last year with an elbow injury.
