Prime time!: St. Louis Rams play the New York Giants on Monday night in week two

"New Yawk?" Head coach Steve Spagnuolo of the St. Louis Rams returns to the Meadowlands this year...in prime time.

The St. Louis Rams are headed back to prime time, after inspiring the world and showing network execs that they can produce ratings in their week 17 Sunday night game for the NFC West crown. For the 2011 NFL season, they'll get another shot under the bright lights of national television with a road game against the New York Giants in week 2 on Monday night.

Spagnuolo...the homecoming. It's a sure sign that the St. Louis Rams have arrived, as well as their coach, though it will be a much different Giants team than the one he left to take the Rams head coaching gig after 2008.

Supposedly kept under lock and key until tonight, bits and pieces of the 2011 NFL schedule have been leaking out over the course of the day. It seems unlikely to think that the Rams will have any more prime time games, barring a change in the flex scheduling late in the season, a la week 17 last year. Games against their division rivals don't look very promising from a ratings standpoint right now.

So many one-liners...welcome to the NFL for Sam Bradford, playing under the scrutiny of Giants fans at the Meadowlands. Of course, he has played in Texas before, with an Oklahoma jersey on his back, so how bad can it really be?

Now, all we need is some sort of assurance that there will actually be football in 2011.

Wait...I almost missed the most interesting part of this post...SNY has a Tumblr page? I'm confused, are hipsters turning a post-ironic eye on the NFL? Sports other than dodge ball? Canned PBR and day glow Wayfarers coming next?
