The second round of the 2011 NFL mock draft by SBN's writers is happening right now. This morning, I made the pick for the St. Louis Rams second rounder. And just who did I draft?
I went with Illinois RB Mikel Leshoure with the 47th overall pick in the mock. That may look a little familiar since that's who the Rams picked in the SBN mock draft from this morning, but I can assure you my pick was turned in last week.
And why Leshoure?
It's hard to pass on a receiver here, but Leshoure will have more of an impact, giving the offense a new dimension by allowing them to expand Jackson's role in 2011 (if there is a 2011 season) than a receiver not named Julio Jones... and the draft isn't over after two rounds, anyway.
Through two rounds, it's been all Illinois for the Rams. I drafted DT Corey Liuget in the first round, with Julio Jones off the board.
For the record, I'm from Missouri...no ties to Illinois, not that there's anything wrong with it.
