New names on the list of prospects visiting the Rams

Linebacker Mason Foster #40 of the Washington Huskies is one of several prospects that will visit the St. Louis Rams this week. He also uses a similar eye-black strategy as Chris Long, hmmm.

2011 NFL Draft prospects will be visiting Rams Park today and tomorrow as the St. Louis Rams race into the final stretch of their draft preparations. Among those with tickets to the show are a handful of potential first round picks, according to Jim Thomas at the PD. The guest list includes...

Julio Jones will make a visit, as the Rams refuse to give up on the possibility that he'll be there when they make the 14th pick. The other potential top picks include Aldon Smith, Corey Liuget, Cameron Jordan and Robert Quinn

Another interesting name on the list is Illinois RB Mikel Leshoure, generally regarded as the second best running back in the draft. The 14th pick is a little high for Leshoure, the Rams second round pick is way too low. Were they to trade down in the first, he'd have to be among the players considered given their need at the position.

Washington LB Mason Foster is also on the list. Foster would be an excellent solution to the Rams problems at weakside linebacker. He's solid in coverage, has a good instinct for the play and tackles like he means it. If the Rams were to pick Foster, it would have to be in the second round, if he makes it to them in the middle of the round.

Clemson CB Marcus Gilchrist is another new name on the list. Listed as a corner, some think he can play any position in the secondary, and he has. Given that scouting reports like his play in zone coverage, the Rams probably see him as a safety, perhaps a nickel corner.
