2011 NFL Draft: Rams attend Da'Quan Bowers workout today

Clemson DE Da'Quan Bowers held his long anticipated workout for NFL teams today. The St. Louis Rams were one of many teams on the scene to see whether the 2010 NCAA sack leader lived up the billing. Results were mediocre and the web is already buzzing with talk of Bowers' draft stock falling.

Bowers posted forty times of 4.92 and 4.81, a 6.95 in the three-cone and mid-4.4s in the short shuttle. What hurt his top five pick status more than anything were the linebacker drills, where he was told by Miami's DL coach "I'm stiff and I can do it. If you can't then you must be real stiff." Speculation is that he could have fallen out of the top 10 after today.

And that's where the Rams enter the picture. If Bowers does fall out of the top 10, he could be in play for the Rams. That would be a very attractive pick, given that the tape is still pretty convincing as to his potential in a 4-3 defense.

What about the knee? Reports said he was rusty, but didn't have issues. He is going to be re-examined by doctors in Indianapolis before the draft.
