DId you survive the football-less weekend? I hope so. Well, here's a little bit of good news to reward you for your perseverance, you hero of the people you. The Oracle at Delphi, Adam Schefter, is reporting tonight that the NFL and the NFLPA could be sitting back down for negotiations this week.
What happened to scuttle talks this week is unclear. At one point it was said that the owners walked as a prepared move. Now, it seems as though the talk may have been killed by pure mislabeling and misunderstanding, of course, with the league saying that the player reps mischaracterized their proposal as something other than a proposal. It's all rather like the arguments over the shape of the table.
Various persons from each side talked after the acrimonious sessions ended on Wednesday, per Schefter. Thus the possible resumption of talks this week. But don't get too hopeful, various moves following the end of talks have wounded the pride of the rich, grown men on both sides.
Maybe it's good, maybe it doesn't mean a damn thing. I'll be honest with you. I'm a cynical, cynical man who choses to the believe the worst about people. I won't be optimistic about this thing until I see players in uniform. practicing, getting ready for real games, hopefully just 16 though.
