It doesn't seem like it's been that long ago, but it has been less than a week since the Super Bowl. Tick tock. Tick tock. Tick tock.
Yes, the ticking clock could be the sound of the labor situation that threatens to shut down the NFL all together, but right now that situation is best represented by crickets chirping given the state of negotiations. We at least have the 2011 NFL Draft to look forward to, something fans of the St. Louis Rams ought to be familiar with.
So let me throw this out for a little late night discussion. This is the first weekend without football in a long, long time. Yes, there was that weird little week between the conference championships and the Super Bowl, but there was at least a prospect all-star game to help us bide our time. Those are over now too. The Combine is two weeks away. Tick tock. Tick tock. Tick tock.
How do you plan to spend your first weekend without football in a long time? I was thinking about shoveling off some of this damn snow, but with temps expected to climb again, I'll let mother nature handle that for me. No football also means, for me anyway, no hiding from the wife's to-do list. Which ought to stave off a few hours of boredom. But then what? Water colors? Cross stitch? I'm just not sure.
And yeah, if you're bored now just wait until the lockout.
