It's Championship Weekend, in which college football conference championships will add a little more gasoline to the fires of hatred that burn around the BCS. Will all that college football action, what better time to take a look at another 2012 NFL Mock Draft? This one will be especially interesting to fans of the St. Louis Rams as it comes from our friend Jeff over at Rams Gab.
Jeff ran through all seven rounds of the draft with the Rams in mind. He projected players for each of the Rams' draft picks based on where those players are likely to fall in the draft. Let's take a look.
In the first round, Jeff mocks South Carolina wide receiver Alshon Jeffery to the Rams. Not all that long ago, a number of draftniks had Jeffery in their top five, but now, after a lapse in productivity this season, Jeffery divides pundits. There's considerable argument whether or not Jeffery, Justin Blackmon or Michael Floyd is the top receiver in the draft. Talk that Jeffery might return to school for his senior year, based on what the draft advisory board has to say, is circulating as well. Regardless, it's hard to argue with Jeff's idea here. The Rams need playmakers on offense.
For the second round, his pick is Memphis DT Dontari Poe, a big 350 lbs wall for the middle of the line. Poe's a riser on draft boards lately, and it's hard not to like what you hear about him. Check out his scouting report from NE Patriots Draft.
Head over to Rams Gab and check out Jeff's other picks.
