St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford did not practice today, according to Jim Thomas of the Post-Dispatch. Instead, A.J. Feeley took all of the reps in practice today, with the starting offense and the scout team. It leaves a big question for the Rams as they head to San Francisco for a tough game against the 49ers this week.
Bradford's ankle was bothering him following last week's game. He was limited in practice yesterday, but did practice. Today's report would lead you to indicate that things have gotten worse for him.
Another possibility is that the Rams are taking a more cautious approach this week. Remember, they're playing with a reconfigured offensive line, featuring Adam Goldberg at left tackle. Goldberg struggled on the left side last week, allowing two sacks to rookie outside linebacker Sam Acho. This week he'd be facing off against Aldon Smith and possibly seeing some of Justin Smith, who will no doubt terrorize the interior line which also struggled last week. It could be a painful week to be a Rams quarterback. It's also worth mentioning that the 49ers have one of the best run defenses in the league.
Of course, teams can't just hide their $78 million man just because he's struggling and the matchup is difficult. We'll see what happens.
