Rams Vs. Cardinals, Game Balls: Steven Jackson, Darian Stewart

St. Louis Rams safety Darian Stewart gives Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton chase.

Another week, another forgettable effort by the St. Louis Rams. This week's loss to the Arizona Cardinals was particular tough to endure after watching the Rams upset the Saints the week before only to lose a game they really should have won. Nevertheless, it wasn't all bad; there were a few bright spots for the Rams this week.

This week, I'm giving the game ball to two players. First, Steven Jackson. Jackson rushed for 130 yards, topping the century mark for the second consecutive game. He averaged 4.5 yards on 29 carries, and was one bright spot in an otherwise forgettable offensive performance. It's hard to have a favorite player on this team other than Jackson, but, man, I wish some other players would earn a game ball on the offense.

On defense, I'm going with Darian Stewart. Yes, unimaginable two weeks ago, Stewart is really coming into his own as of late. He's played really well these last two games. Against the Cardinals, Stewart had two tackles, one for a loss, and three pass defensed. He also forced a fumble. We complain an awful lot about the young players on this team who have failed to live up to their potential, be that an issue with drafting or with coaching/development, so it's nice to see a guy stepping up. Let's hope he can continue to build on that effort.
