NFL Draft notes - college football open thread

USC FS T.J. McDonald is headed to the NFL. Will he be headed to St. Louis too?

  One more day to Tuscalageddon.

In the interim, we have a Pac 12 matchup between still-sanctioned USC and newly added Colorado. And since that's all we've got, I threw it on the watchlist for this weekend (stay tuned tomorrow for updates).

Sure, Rams fans will likely keep a trained eye on OT Matt Kalil and FS T.J. McDonald while continuing to eye true sophomore WR Robert Woods. And while Mocking the Draft manager Dan Kadar noted Nick Perry's rise up the boards, I would suggest Rams fans keep an eye on C Khaled Holmes.

He's not spectacular, but for a late day 2/early day 3 pick, I could see the Rams bringing in a young short snapper (yes!) to develop behind Jason Brown for a year or two.

Colorado's not stocked with talent; their 1-8 record kind of tells you that, I would guess. But while that means you can spend more time watching USC, it also means the top Trojans should dominate their matchups.

So all you USC fans, all my draft peoples, drop your observations off here tonight before the big day tomorrow.
