The St. Louis Rams made one roster move today. They added linebacker Justin Cole from the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad, according to Cole's agent. The Rams have not released any official statement yet, but this move will likely be one of several the team makes this week because of injuries and depth chart issues.
With Al Harris and Michael Hoomanawanui done for the season and headed to injured reserve, two more roster spots will open. They'll most certainly have to add a cornerback to replace Harris on the 53-man roster. Curious that they would add another linebacker at this point, given the fact that David Nixon was added prior to this game.
Cole will be paid some $79,000, the equivalent of three game checks on the active roster, whether the Rams leave him on the 53-man roster or not.
Cole was signed by the Chiefs as an undrafted rookie out of San Jose State in 2010.
