Fantasy football general managers never have a bye week. They suffer through the bye weeks, watching their top players get a day to rest. Add to that an NFL injury report long on offensive superstars, and week five gets downright confusing. Let us help.
Vincent Jackson practiced this week, and is likely to play against a weak Denver secondary. He could get you a lot of points. Don't out-think your self and leave him on the bench this week.
Andre Johnson is out for two or three weeks. That bodes well for Owen Daniels in the Texans offense. Speaking of tight ends, Antonio Gates is out this week, and probably will not play until after San Diego's bye week. Cincinnati tight end Jermaine Gresham has three games with 50+ yards receiving and two touchdowns this season.
Fortunately for you, if you have Ben Roethlisberger, he's playing this week, but with a bum foot, you wonder just how effective he'll be. As for waiver wire stand-ins at quarterback, good luck. You can choose from Jason Campbell, Alex Smith or Tarvaris Jackson. Oddly enough, Smith is probably the best out of that bunch because the 49ers are playing it safe with him.
