Washington Redskins OLB Brian Orakpo Named NFC Defensive Player Of The Week

Fantasy football players figured out a long time ago that teams playing the St. Louis Rams can do big things on the stat sheet. Washington Redskins OLB Brian Orakpo found that out this week too, earning the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award for his dominant performance in a week four win over the Rams.

Orakpo had 2.5 sacks and five tackles in the game. The former University of Texas player in his second year in the NFL dominated second-year offensive tackle Rodger Saffold. Orakpo now has two player of the week awards.

Orakpo is the second linebacker to earn player of the week awards for his outing against the Rams. Lewis had 10 tackles, a sack and forced a fumble that was returned for a touchdown by Haloti Ngata, piling on in the Ravens' 37-7 win in week three.

Hopefully the Rams will have a player of the week sometime before the season ends.
