The clock is ticking for St. Louis Rams wide receiver Mark Clayton. The team has until next Monday to activate him from the PUP list or place him on the injured reserve list, ending his season. Unfortunately for Clayton and the Rams, there is no guarantee that he will rejoin the active roster prior to next Monday's deadline.
Clayton resumed practicing with the Rams on October 19, the first day he was eligible. That started the clock on a three week window to add him to the 53-man roster. Last week, he suffered a sore Achilles tendon, and was left off the roster for a second week. He was wearing a boot over the weekend. Clayton is out of the boot now, but is still bothered by his injury.
Head coach Steve Spagnuolo indicated in his press conference today that Clayton's return to the active roster was still up in the air. His status for Wednesday's practice is questionable.
Also worth noting is that Jason Smith and Darell Scott are still out with concussions.
