The St. Louis Rams traded for wide receiver Brandon Lloyd last week, acquiring him from the Broncos for a late round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. The move is paying dividends today, as Lloyd scored his first touchdown in a Rams uni helping put the Rams up over the Saints by a score of 17-0 at the half.
Lloyd has four catches for 33 yards and a touchdown through two quarters of play. Many expected the Rams to turn in another ugly effort this week against a Saints team that was favored by more than two touchdowns after scoring 62 points against the Colts last week.
Could this be the start of a turnaround for the St. Louis Rams? It certainly looks that way. The offensive line has had its issues today, especially with penalties and pass protection, but the defense has yet to miss a beat, holding the Saints to just 94 total yards in the first half.
