St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola will get a second opinion on his elbow tomorrow. Amendola re-injured his dislocated elbow in practice last week. Reports earlier today suggested that Amendola would almost certainly require surgery on the joint.
At his Monday afternoon press conference, Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo acknowledged that Amendola banged his arm in practice last week, and he kept playing. Now, he may be done for the season. Spagnuolo hinted that he would need surgery, thus ending his season.
Guard Jacob Bell's hamstring strain is not as serious as it was first thought to be. He'll be listed as day-to-day, and could miss practice tomorrow and Wednesday. Tight end Michael Hoomanawanui has a concussion. DT Darrell Scott will have minor wrist surgery, but is expected to return just in time for the Rams' game in Green Bay after the bye week.
Spagnuolo's press conference lasted about twenty minutes, and mostly consisted of softballs lobbed at him by the fans, I mean, journalists in the audience. Among the topics covered during that time: the St. Louis Cardinals and how Spagnuolo copes with difficult times...his wife. We'll have more on this later.
