DeMarco Murray Sets Records Vs. Rams

New, comments

Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray set more than one record against the hapless St. Louis Rams run defense today. The Rams run defense allowed Murray to rush for 253 yards and a touchdown today, including a 91-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter. Both of those numbers set records.

Murray topped Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith's single-game rushing record for the Dallas Cowboys. Smith ran for 237 yards back in 1993.

Murray set another record against, one for the Rams. His 91-yard touchdown was the longest ever allowed by the Rams, in the history of a franchise that dates back to 1937.

Murray's 253 rushing yards are the most ever allowed by the Rams. Only one other running back has rushed for more than 200 yards against the Rams; that was Atlanta's Michael Turner who ran for 208 yards and a touchdown in the last game of the season in 2008, the year before the Rams hired Steve Spagnuolo as their head coach.
