The St. Louis Rams are definitely talking to the Denver Broncos about wide receiver Brandon Lloyd. Denver would like to trade their veteran wide receiver who enjoyed his first successful season under Josh McDaniels. Of course, the Rams are not the only team interested.
The New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers are also talking to Denver about acquiring Lloyd. Those two teams have a shot at the post-season, while the Rams are probably done for the year at 0-4. That could factor prominently in the decision, as those teams could be more willing to offer a higher price than the Rams.
For the Rams, acquiring Lloyd would have more significance for 2012, when the Rams should be competitive again. Don't overlook the impact on this year though. Lloyd could improve the offense enough to save some jobs in the front office and on the coaching staff.
The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, October 18. Expect today's results to shape trade talk a little more.
