Rams: Atogwe, Clayton want to be Rams in 2011

The St. Louis Rams don't have a ton of pressing issues in terms of contract situations or pending free agents looming this offseason, but there are a few big questions to be answered. Two of those questions involve FS Oshiomogho Atogwe and WR Mark Clayton. They dropped hints today that they'd like to be back with the Rams for 2011.

Atogwe, after an uncomfortable period of restricted free agency dictated by a fluke of the lapsed CBA, was resigned to a multi-year contract that had an out for the Rams following the first season. There is an $8 million roster bonus that the front office has to make a decision on very soon. Atogwe said that he wanted to come back and sounds willing to talk about what it might take to make that happen, which I'm assuming is a careful dalliance with contract re-negotiation. We talked Atogwe for a little bit on Turf Show Radio yesterday

Mark Clayton, who will be an unrestricted free agent, said he'd also like to stay in St. Louis as well, and it sounds like Devaney is of the same opinion.

Other than that, today's presser was mostly the typical end-of-season talking points. No hints of palace intrigue, but Spagnuolo did suggest that he would evaluate his coaching staff, not unusual.
