Rams contact WR Ryan Lincoln from Texas A&M-Kingsville

You certainly can't accuse the St. Louis Rams of looking in only the most obvious places to find help at wide receiver. Their most recent outreach involves a player from Texas A&M-Kingsville.

The Rams are one of three NFL teams that have contacted the agent for Ryan Lincoln, a wide receiver for the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas. Listed at 5'11" 196 lbs, the receiver had 65 catches for 833 yards and 5 TDs last year. It's not as though Lincoln has been totally isolated; he's been working out with Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett.

Lincoln had 2 catches and 59 yards in the Cactus Bowl, a sort of all-star game for very small schools, earlier this month.

The Rams talked to another small school receiver this week at the Senior Bowl: East Carolina's Dwayne Harris. Lincoln and Harris seem like very similar players, though the report about Lincoln linked above notes his good hands, which you also see in this highlight video (key thing to remember is that it's a highlight video)...a highlight video that shows an array of play types, with a number of reverses. I'm assuming he can return kicks and punts as well.
