The St. Louis Rams need a new quarterbacks coach, after announcing today that Dick Curl will retire.
Strange timing? Not at all. New offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels happens to know a QB coach, his brother Ben. Ben McDaniels was the QB coach in Denver with Josh. Spagnuolo told the press today that he and his staff haven't yet started the search for Curl's replacement. It's not out of the question that McDaniels could handle the QB coaching duties himself too.
It should be noted that brining over his brother Ben was speculated on as one of the hold ups in negotiations with the Rams. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, but the timing sure makes you wonder.
Curl was a Spagnuolo/Shurmur hire in 2009.
