St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson did not practice today, which shouldn't come as a huge surprise.

Jackson strained his groin last week with a little help from DE Kedric Golston. The Rams will monitor Jackson's status daily. Don't be surprised if he doesn't practice at all this week, even if he does play against the Seahawks. Last season, Jackson didn't practice throughout a number of weeks despite playing in all but one game, a decision made to save his back for game time. Here's Spags:

You're talking about a running back with a lower-extremity injury, and so you're going to be careful with it. I trust Steven. He knows his body better than anyone else. I know what type of person he is. He is a warrior. He'll want to play, and we'll be smart as we go. We really won't know until we get to the end of the week.

Also not practicing today, FS Oshiomogho Atogwe, SS Darian Stewart, WR Laurent Robinson and DT Clifton Ryan. The others sitting out today are the players who have been out with more significant injuries, e.g. TE Michael Hoomanawanui. SS Craig Dahl returned to practice, passing his concussion tests.

The team was more confident about Ryan returning this week, so stay tuned. According to Brian Stull, Ryan's migraine issues have returned. Uh oh.

As of Monday, they were hopeful about Atogwe too, so keep an eye on whether or not he practices tomorrow and the next day. Laurent Robinson is a reminder that the Rams need to make health a big priority next time they go looking for receivers.
