Random Ramsdom, 9/21: Grounded

It's been a rough two weeks for the NFC West, and the St. Louis Rams aren't the only team that's 0-2. Wins will be a priority for the Rams in the weeks ahead. Now, how to get them...

Morning reading for you.

Spagnuolo said that the Raiders really didn't do anything different with RB Darren McFadden in the second half of last week's win over the Rams. He says the Rams just didn't stop it as well. On the flip side, though nobody will say it, the Rams just didn't have the receiving options, especially with the tight ends out, to take advantage of Oakland's 8-man box.

The Rams offense has done its best work out of the base offense of 1 RB and 1 TE. They haven't run any 4 WR sets, which must be due in part to not having enough receivers. I think they should employ that spread package a little more.

People tuned in to watch the Rams' game this week. I'll be surprised if the Dome sells out this week, but if the Rams can beat the Redskins, it might have a positive effect on ticket sales and ratings the next week when the hated Seahawks come to town.

Help Bernie Miklasz think of a title for his day-after blog post following the Rams games.

Read the Rams depressing injury report one more time.

Adam Schefter says a deal for Vincent Jackson prior to Wednesday's deadline is unlikely. Not that I'm a GM, but that would be stupid. A deal after that would leave Jackson on the sidelines for an additional two games, but not likely to change would be the asking price. Still, teams working the line for Jackson have to deal with the Chargers AND Jackson's agent in two separate negotiations.
