Rams include a few surprises in the spring starting lineup

What does the St. Louis Rams 2010 starting lineup look like? Um, probably a lot different right now than it will in September...that is until the usual rash of injuries hit. I kid (fingers crossed). The PD reports how the lineup looked for this week's opening round of OTAs.

The list and discussion below the fold.

Offense

QB - AJ Feeley
RB - Kenneth Darby
FB - Mike Karney
TE - Billy Bajema
LT - Jason Smith
LG - John Greco
C - Jason Brown
RG - Adam Goldberg
RT - Phil Trautwein
WR - Rotating between Donnie Avery, Laurent Robinson, Brandon Gibson and Danny Amendola

Thoughts: The thing that stands out most is Goldberg at RG. Goldberg played well on the inside filling in for injured or benched players last year. It's been said that the Rams brass is pleased and intrigued by Trautwein, a former U Miami OT signed as an undrafted FA last year. It'll be good for the team to get a better sense of what they have in Trautwein. Greco is playing for his roster spot this year, though he does have a decent amount of regular season playing time under his belt. I'd like to see him take a step forward this year. No Hank Fraley?

Bajema is filling in for Fells, who is recovering from a sprained knee ligament and fractured thigh bone that landed him on IR late last season.

Feeley at QB should surprise no one, as we mentioned before

Defense

DE - Chris Long and James Hall
DT - Clifton Ryan and Fred Robbins
SLB - Na'il Diggs
MLB - James Laurinaitis
WLB - Bobby Carpenter
FS - Craig Dahl
SS - James Butler
CB - Ron Bartell and Justin King

Thoughts: First and foremost, wow, where's David Vobora? Bumped for Na'il Diggs? I really thought Vobora came into his own on the strong side last year. Maybe they want to see how Diggs looks in the scheme, though they should have a good idea already since defensive coordinator Ken Flajole already coached him back in Carolina. I'm a little surprised by this, but it's still early.

Bradley Fletcher Bradley is still recovering from his injury, and I expect him to replace King by the time camp starts.

Dahl played well filling in for injured starters at both safety spots last year, and his familiarity with the scheme no doubt gets him the first look in Atogwe's absence.
