Miami heads to the podium for the 12th pick in the TST Community Mock, represented by Caruso...and the pick is...
The Miami Dolphins select Earl Thomas, S, Texas with the 12th pick in the draft.
This probably would've been the pick regardless, but with Dez Bryant, Dan Williams and Rolando McClain all off the board already this pick is an easy one. This fits BPA (In my book) and fills a need for Miami. Thomas has great instincts and ball skills, with some good coaching he will develop into a top rated safety, maybe even better than Berry.
VanRam: With all the hype over Berry, Thomas has gone seemingly unnoticed. He pulled a hamstring after running a 4.37 at his pro day, but that does not figure to impact his first round status. My question is whether or not he stays a safety in the NFL or makes the move to CB? Vontae Davis and Sean Smith are the young corners of Miami's future, so this could be a nice threesome with Thomas at FS.
