TST Community Mock Draft: Pick 11

We pick up the TST Community mock draft at the one that goes one better...number eleven. Here's CaliRamMan with the pick.

With the 11th pick in the draft, the Denver Broncos select Rolando McClain, MLB, Alabama

Jacksonville just made this pick really easy for Denver. With Bryant off the board and Marshall still on the roster, Denver goes back to what allowed them to be successful to start the season in 2009- Defense. Last spring McClain showed that he was elevating to a new level, and he only carried that to the fall of 2009. Coach Saban quickly became comfortable with his MLB and awarded him the ability to audible at the line of scrimmage based on his reads (not something that is commonly allowed in college). He is the Quarterback of the defense and can be seen getting teammates aligned on film. Coaches rave about his understanding of the team's defensive scheme and work ethic in the film room. Locates the ball quickly and practices sound gap discipline. Can take a step towards the line of scrimmage against play action but recovers quickly. He is a smart, hard hitting, sound tacker that plays sideline to sideline. The accolades continue: 2008: Awarded the Lee Roy Jordan Headhunter Award following spring practice. Named the Crimson Tide's Outstanding Defensive Performer and Defensive Player of the Year by the team. Earned the Alabama Coaches' Defensive Player of the Week Award nine times in 14 games. Earned Academic All-SEC honors. McClain is a perfect fit as a ILB in Denver's scheme. He will be a nice addition with DJ Williams in the middle, which will allow Dumerville the luxury of continuing his onslaught of opposing QB's. McClain is a rare talent, where his elite work rate on the field matches that of the film room. He will be manning the middle of this defense for years to come.

VanRam: Great pick.
