TST Community Mock Draft: Pick 24

Alright, we've been on hiatus with this and we're going to wrap it up this weekend, since next week is kind of a big one. Here's maybra48 with pick #24 on behalf of the Eagles.

With the 24th pick in the draft the Philadelphia Eagles select Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State.

There are some tempting Linemen options available at this point that I have slightly higher on my board but I feel that Wilson is a low-risk option that fits my defensive scheme the best. Wilson is an aggressive corner that really flourished as a team leader his senior year at Boise. He will be a hard guy to keep off the field early his first year, especially with such a thin secondary. Boise's scheme had him blitzing the QB from all over the field, as well as putting him in man coverage when others were blitzing. This experience will bode well in this aggressive Eagles scheme. His tackling has been criticized but Boise secondary players were often asked to go for the strip rather than just tackle. I think this area of his game is easy to fix and his muscular frame will allow him to hold up well physically. I feel he is a safer pick than a JPP, Bruce Campbell or Dunlap and with an extra early 2nd Rd pick a boom or bust selection can be made then. Also FS Nate Allen and OLB Daryl Washington filled greater needs but both are a reach this early in the draft and are likely available in the 2nd. I am willing to bet that Wilson would be the starting corner opposite Asanti Samuel by mid-season at the latest.

VanRam: A good pick who should keep the tradition of Philly's dangerous defensive backfield alive.
