Rams Getting Healthy: Thursday Practice Notes

Well, another practice completed today as the Rams prepare for their toughest test of the season when they face the 49ers on the road in a huge division rivalry game.

For the most part, nothing disastrous happened. Jason Smith will be ready to go this weekend after a much needed bye week helped him get cleared from his latest concussion.

One note from today's practice concerns starting LT Rodger Saffold who sat out due to a sore shoulder.

Nothing to be worried about though, as this was a precautionary measure and he plans to be at 100% and playing on Sunday. Rodger has had a very impressive rookie season thus far, and has been a big part in Sam Bradford's success.

Na'il Diggs banged knee/shin with Craig Dahl, and Diggs left to get an x-ray. Doesn't look too serious as he was walking around the locker room after practice. Dahl was not hurt in the incident.

I would expect Diggs to play Sunday unless something strange comes up in the x-ray. I hope he does because we really need him this week. His veteran leadership has been superb and a welcome addition to our LB corp.

The only other player to not practice today was DX, so you can say we're the healthiest we've been in a long time. Sometimes the bye week can really suck, but other times like this year, it was a welcome occurrence.

PS: The Rams had about 250 soldiers on hand to watch today's practice and have lunch, in observance of Veteran's Day.
