I'm jonesin' for numbers, stats from this week's game. While we're waiting on those, here's a nice little distraction. We mentioned Washington LB Robert Henson's, um, statement to the fans after the Rams played the Redskins on Sunday. Shades of Richie Incognito, no?
Richie let his gestures do the talking last season, taunting booing fans for more. Here's Henson's offending statement:
The question is who are you to say you know what's best for the team and you work 9 to 5 at McDonalds. You don't wanna follow me anymore then fine but we play for you and win lose or draw we represent you!! My guy on the Rams said they never got booed even when they didn't win a game. We made mistakes out there but we fought through them tooth and nail.
I don't know who is "Rams guy" is, but the Rams did in fact get booed. It's what prompted Incognito's public display of affection last year, remember? Of course, maybe Henson's Rams guy didn't have enough experience with the team or a long enough memory or just a bad view of things from the sideline or wherever he sits. Maybe he's passing this info on to Henson because he couldn't hear the booing at the Rams games since there usually aren't very many fans at those games, except when the Packers or Bears are in town...and those fans haven't had a reason to boo the Rams lately.
