Following up on kmooth's Fanpost from earlier today, the Eagles have officially released wide receiver and reality TV star Hank Baskett. The St. Louis Rams are believed to be one of several teams interested.
Baskett will hit the waiver wire, where priority is still given based on the final standings from the 2008 season, until Sep. 29. That means the Rams have second dibs on Baskett, after the Lions. The issue that the Rams might face with Baskett is taking on his $1.545 million base salary. Of course, if he clears waivers, he'll be a restricted free agent which means teams can negotiate a new deal with Baskett.
Keep an eye on this situation. It's clear the Rams need help at WR.
