Adjustment period: Random Ramsdom, 7/22

The water on the stove is starting to get those bubbles on the bottom of the pan, ready to boil any minute now. That's kind of the way it's going right now with football news. The dead part of the offseason is bubbling away, and into a full boil next week as camp gets underway for the Rams and almost every other team in the league. Rams VP of Football Operations and contract guru Kevin Demoff told chatters at the Post-Dispatch yesterday that he has been in contact with the agents for Rams first and second round picks, Jason Smith and James Laurinaitis

ESPN's Mike Sando sees a lot of former Rams from the "Greatest Show" days as legit Hall of Fame candidates.

KFFL sees WR Keenan Burton producing somewhere between 33-43 receptions, 506-656 yards, and 2-4 TDs.

Adjustment periods may be overstated for players coming to the NFL from a college spread offense. For Rams OT Jason Smith part of that change is coming from a two-point stance to a three-point stance and playing on a different side of the field as the Baylor LT becomes the Rams RT.

It's being reported that Goodell will meet with Michael Vick this week, the first step in determining whether or not to reinstate him for the 2009 season. It could be a big week for former QB news, with the Vick meeting and an expected decision from Favre by Friday.

Handgun safety spokesperson Plaxico Burress is also somewhere on Goodell's calendar's Jason La Canfora says lots of second and third round rookies will sign deals this week. Will James Laurinaitis be among them?
