Random Ramsdom, 3/31: Training camp comes home

Goodbye to the Great White North, or Wisconsin at least. Training camp's moving back to the St. Louis area so everyone, fan and player alike, can enjoy the beautiful August weather.

  • The most exciting news of the day is the Rams' decision to bring training camp back to the St. Louis area. Hopefully, they'll open it up to the fans...and bloggers. That would be a big help in reconnecting with a disgruntled fan base, or what's left of it. The actual site has yet to be determined, but wherever it is, TST is going to be there this summer.
  • Former Rams OT Orlando Pace has been loosely connected to the Bears since it became obvious he was going to be released. Now he's making it official with a visit to the tackle-starved Bears, who have already given him a physical. He's said to be in negotiations with the Ravens currently.
  • The blocking tight end has arrived, and, as expected, it's former 49er Billy Bajema. He's a much younger solution than Anthony Becht, now a Cardinal. The Rams will need an effective blocker for the TE position given their plans to run, run, and run the football.
  • The Rams worked out University of Central Florida CB Joe Burnett recently. Burnett's a potential mid-late round pick with nice ball skills. NFLDraftScout.com says he's never out of the play and has the hands and legs to make INTs count. Of course, his value may be as a return man. Mel Kiper Jr. says Burnett's the type of player that will find a role with a team.
