The consensus among mock drafts that had Detroit starting with a QB (Stafford) and the Rams having their choice of OTs is starting to crack. Whispers that Detroit would eschew the expected path started circulating pretty heavy last week. The most recent mock at SI.com has the Lions taking coveted OT prospect Andre Smith and the Rams taking another OT, Eugene Monroe, the second year in a row they'd draft a Virginia product with the second pick.
You can see from this mock draft database that the most recently updated of the bunch are tracking a similar scenario. Beware of the dreaded groupthink, huh? But it's worth thinking about. I haven't seen much of Monroe, so I added a (rather long) highlight video I found on YouTube to this post.
