Good community citizens as they are, the Rams lent the Cardinals a hand with some medical information the other day. Concerned about a potential troublesome MSRA infection in the knee of outfielder Chris Duncan, the Cardinals' medical staff made a call to the Rams doctor and trainer types to get more info about the condition. The Rams, it seems, suffered their own little bout with MSRA, which has a nasty proclivity to spread around the locker room. And you thought locker rooms were gross just because of the way they smelled and all those naked men running around and slapping each other with towels in a marginally homoerotic way. Hat tip to Will Carroll at Baseball Prospectus for today's random Rams news, or, RAMdom News.
Oh don't think the irony of the Cardinals, St. Louis' golden haired favorite child when it comes to pro sports, asking the Rams for assistance was lost on us here at TST. Maybe the disappointed Cardinal fans will even think about getting some Rams tickets this season...at least to sell them to fans of visiting teams.
If you'd like more information about MSRA, also known as Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, here's the wikipedia entry. Sorry, no pictures :(
